Senior Design Team 20 • GridGPT

Project Overview

GridGPT is a analytical application that is used to monitor power grid systems, and interpreting power grid results. Currently, the only way that power grid analysts are able to read power grid data is by looking at DSS files. This can lead to human errors because, sometimes, these files can get complex. It becomes difficult to understand grid data.

The primary goal of this project is to create and train an AI model to interpret and modify these DSS files. This will decrease the possibility of human errors occuring during analysis, and it will lead to faster results. This will be beneficial in the case of a power outage, as the AI model will be able to know what exactly is wrong with a power grid.

My name is Eddy Andrade, and I am a first-gen Computer Engineering student who loves music and is engaged heavily with Iowa State's college radio station. I've worked with Frontned in the past, and I enjoy coding a lot!

My name is Emma Heithoff. I am an Electrical Engineering student and am completing a sequence in Power. I enjoy electrical design for various building types and small-scale design as well. I enjoy working in groups and taking on new skills outside of my courses. I am looking forward to doing both in this design sequence.

Nicholas Doty

My name is Nicholas Doty, and I am a Computer Engineering student who loves hockey and spending time with friends and family. I am also a part of Kairos, a Lutheran Student Ministry at Iowa State.
